The stars will be aligned and red carpet will be in place, 6:00pm Thursday July 17th at the Cypress Columns in Gray as Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity will celebrate their annual Mr. Habitat Contest!
This year’s gala will be a Blockbuster event, as several upstanding gentlemen in our local community will trade in their uniforms, suits, jackets and ties to transform into their favorite movie character for the evening. The contestant list for this year’s contest include, Roosevelt Thomas, Hilary Domangue, Kevin George, Steve Crispino, Donald Wayne Bogen Jr., Steve Morgan, Patrick Carter, Jonathan Foret and Robert “Mitch” Wright. Mr. Habitat 2008 will also feature some of the best cuisine that south Louisiana has to offer, as over 15 local food vendors will provide food throughout the evening. Featured dishes include pork loin, bourbon chicken, shrimp & tasso pasta, yellow rice pilaf and brisket pistolettes among others. Café Milano, Cashio’s Catering, Bare Essentials Castalano’s Deli & Catering, Chinese Chef’s, Copeland’s, Cypress Columns, Golden Corral, Griffin’s Poboy, Smokin Joe’s, S&L Hooked on Seafood, Starbucks, Subway and Woody’s will make sure everyone has their fill and all palates are satisfied.
In addition, Mr. Habitat will also feature an array of both silent and live auction items. Highlighting this year’s live auction items and following in the Hollywood theme are VIP Tickets to The Oprah Winfrey Show. The list of silent auction items, which is sure to please, includes signed New Orleans Saints and LSU memorabilia to go along with several spa, vacation, golf, casino and hotel packages. Outback Steakhouse will also provide a 100 person catered steak dinner, which would be perfect for your company’s Christmas party.
